Maybe you'd forgotten.

Maybe you just didn't want to admit it to yourself.

But this October 31st, one week from tonight, alice. herself brings her motley band of misfits back to the hallowed Cornelia Street Café for her second annual Halloween Spectacular. Though last year's expedition into a sinister Samhain celebration proved to be an event without equal, she's been hard at work to ensure that this year, nothing stands between her and Halloween legend.

You know what kind of baguette we're talking about here. Serious baguette.

Coming to a NYC Institution near you!

Ah, fall... the leaves changing color, the crisp smell in the air, and just around the corner, those charming New York City winters. Just about time in fact, for you to start making your Halloween plans - so as you call up your buddies and start compiling bits of string for that new wig and OH MY DEAR SWEET JESUS WHAT IS THAT??!? IT'S HORRIFYING!! IT'S TERRIBLE!! IT'S--

the Second Annual alice. Hallowe'en Spectacular!!

Saturday, October 31st, 2009
the Cornelia Street Café
29 Cornelia Street, 10014
Sets at 9:00pm and 10:30pm

Join us for a night of saga, song, and Samhain-crusted shivers as we present our second annual reading from the hallowed Book of alice. There will be guests. There will be laughter and fright. There might be alice. There will definitely be some things that you never thought you'd hear.

If you caught this last year, you know why you need to see it this year.

If you didn't, take our word for it. She always gets a bit more ballsy in the fall.

a word from alice.

To my most loyal constituents:

I know exactly what you're thinking... I'd better have a decent accounting of myself after having disappeared for over two months. To just run off like that is inexcusable, and I can only apologize for leaving you for so long with no explanation.

To be honest, I didn't even realize it had been two months - I woke up in Johannesburg on January 13th with a splitting headache, and the last thing I remembered was heading toward the Living Room on the 9th and a bottle of Drambuie flying towards my face... I still haven't been able to figure out if it hit me in the head or in the mouth, but regardless, the effect seems to have been the same, and there I was four days later in South Africa , my wallet and passport back home in my other hoop skirt. How embarrassing.

Luckily, while hitchhiking my way around East Africa I ran into Rohin in Zanzibar, and I was able to stow away in one of his finger cymbal cases on the way back to the states. And here we are in mid-March already, and I've got to get cracking. I've put the lash to Seth and Kyle to get them working on the new album, and things are progressing with that. I've also decided that I shall be appearing at The Living Room once again on April 3rd, though perhaps I should be renting the Popemobile this time to get there. Maybe we can catch up there over a spot of tea and some of Seth and Kyle's new material.

I hope you can forgive my absence; I have every intention of blaming it on the Drambuie - scotch is far too sweet for me anyway.
